Why everyone else says your data can't be recovered
When TV Time closed on July 15, 2026, its GDPR self-service portal — the only place an export ZIP could be created — went offline too. Most TV Time replacements import only that ZIP, which is why their help pages tell late arrivals the data "cannot be recovered."
That's true for the export file. It's not true for your history. Copies of it survive elsewhere: the app's own cache inside your phone backups, and the viewing records your streaming services keep. Help Me Binge is the only tracker with importers for both — plus the fastest manual rebuild there is — and all three run entirely in your browser, with no desktop software to install. Three ways to recover your TV Time data — no export needed
📱 1 · From an iPhone backup (the fullest recovery). TV Time's iOS app cached your whole library — shows and watched episodes — in a SQLite file called DioCache.db. If you have any iPhone backup made while TV Time was installed, that file is probably in it. Pull it out with a backup-browser tool, then in the app tap Import → Import DioCache.db. The import itself runs right in your browser — free, nothing uploaded, no desktop reader to install — and your shows and watched episodes are rebuilt automatically.
📋 2 · Paste your list (the 2-minute rebuild). Keep your shows in Notes, a spreadsheet, or your head? Tap Import → Paste a list, paste the titles, and every one is found and added at once. Then mark where you're up to in each show. It won't restore old watch dates — but your library is back in minutes, not weeks.
🎬 3 · From your streaming services. Netflix still remembers everything you watched: download your viewing activity at netflix.com/viewingactivity and drop the CSV in — episodes are matched and marked watched automatically. Rated things on IMDb, Letterboxd, Trakt, or MyAnimeList over the years? Those exports import too, ratings included.
Every file is processed on your device — nothing is uploaded to a server. And once you're in, your data is one-tap exportable forever. We won't do to you what TV Time did.
Recovering TV Time data — frequently asked questions
I missed the export deadline. Is my history gone forever?Not necessarily. The export portal is offline, but your history may survive inside an iPhone backup (TV Time's DioCache.db cache), in your own notes or memory (paste the list to rebuild), or in your streaming services' viewing records.
Which backup do I need for the DioCache.db recovery?Any iPhone backup — iCloud or computer — made while TV Time was still installed on the phone. A backup-browser tool can extract the TV Time app's files; the one you want is DioCache.db.
Will the pasted-list rebuild restore my episode history?It restores your library — every show, matched and added at once — and you then mark where you're up to. Old per-episode watch dates only come back via the iPhone-backup or Netflix-history paths.
